AIR NIUGINI�S FIRST NATIONAL RETIRING PILOT CAPTAIN PAUL KODOR LEAVES BEHIND LEGACY
Papua New Guinean pilot Captain Paul Kodor had retired in February this year after flying with Air Niugini for 34 years, leaving behind a great legacy including training a large number of pilots including many of the PNG nationals who are now flying the airline�s Boeing aircraft. He is Air Niugini�s first national pilot to have retired upon reaching the age of 65, following his final flight, PX004 on the Boeing 767 from Brisbane to Port Moresby on February 2, the day he turned 65 years old. 65 years is the maximum age approved by ICAO for pilots on international flights. His greatest achievement was becoming a Check and Training pilot on the Boeing aircraft following Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) PNG�s approval in 2004. Over the years, Captain Kodor conducted at least seven type rating courses which involved 14 pilots, mostly First Officers (FOs) trained under his wings, many of whom are currently flying Air Niugini�s Boeing aircraft.

LINK PNG and PNG AIR REAPPLY TO ICCC FOLLOWING EXTENDED EFFECTS OF COVID-19
Link PNG has today confirmed that it and PNG Air have reapplied to ICCC for Link PNG to acquire a minority shareholding in PNG Air.�� Both PNG Air and Link PNG believe ICCC approval of this will benefit Papua New Guinean Nationals and travellers. CHANGES TO COVID-19 TESTING REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
There are additional changes to the requirements for international travel, effective from Tuesday 20 April.� These changes will affect all passengers departing to Australia , as well as to Singapore , Hong Kong , Manila and any other Air Niugini international destinations. All passengers departing internationally will be required to be tested for Covid-19 �at time of check-in. �This is in addition to the requirement for the negative PCR test conducted within three days of travel.��

AIR NIUGINI CONDUCTS TRAINING ON INTERNATIONAL MARITIME DANGEROUS GOODS FOR NMSA
Air Niugini continues to offer training on International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) to external clients in the maritime industry and has recently conducted training for 11 officers from the National Maritime Safety Authority (NMSA). The three days training carried out last week, March 23rd to 25th at the Air Niugini Aviation Training Centre at 7Mile in Port Moresby, was specifically for NMSA Captains and Chief Engineers. Marine dangerous goods are hazardous materials/dangerous goods that endanger marine life. Some examples of these goods are; Ammonium Nitrate, Cyanide, Hydrochloric Acids, Paints, Explosives, Fuel (Petrol, Kerosene, Diesel, Jet A1), Aerosols, Gases (Compressed, Liquefied, Refrigerated, Dissolved, Absorbed) and substances that endanger the Marine life.

Changes To Requirements For Travel To Singapore , Hong Kong And Manila
From Friday 26th March, all passengers travelling from Port Moresby to Singapore, Hong Kong and Manila will be required to provide evidence of a negative COVID Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test at time of check-in. �This is already a requirement for all flights to Australia. Passengers who do not produce evidence of a negative test will not be able to board their flight. The PCR test must be conducted within three days of the scheduled flight departure.

AIR NIUGINI UPGRADES MANUS ISLAND FLIGHTS TO LARGER BOEING 737 AIRCRAFT
Air Niugini is upgrading selected flights to Momote Airport, Manus Island, to larger Boeing 737 aircraft from early next month, following recent upgrading and restoration work on the runway carried out by National Airports Corporation (NAC). The Boeing 737 service will touch down in Manus Island at 1035am on Easter Saturday 03rd April. Thereafter the B737 aircraft will become a regular sight at Momote Airport, with non-stop services from and to Port Moresby operating every Saturday.

Air Niugini Upgrades Gurney Flights To Larger Boeing 737 Aircraft
Air Niugini is upgrading selected flights to Gurney Airport, Alotau, Milne Bay Province to larger Boeing 737 aircraft. The first ever Boeing 737 service will touch down in Gurney at 1120am on Friday 26th February, 2021. Thereafter the B737 aircraft will become a regular sight at Gurney Airport, with three weekly services from 28th March, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Fokker jet aircraft will continue to service Alotau on all other days of the week. Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bruce Alabaster said that by using the B737 to Alotau this will allow the Fokker jet aircraft that currently service the route to be used to increase capacity elsewhere.

Link PNG signs MOU with Hides Gas Development Company for Charter Services
Link PNG, a subsidiary of Air Niugini, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hides Gas Development Company (HGDC), a major landowning company engaged with ExxonMobil, the operator of the PNGLNG Project- to provide chartered services for its personnel engaged within the LNG gas project in the Komo Magarima District, Hela Province.

Air Niugini Increases Services Between Port Moresby And Hong Kong
Air Niugini is pleased to announce that it will increase services between Port Moresby and Hong Kong from once to twice weekly, commencing Saturday 03rd April 2021. Services will be operated by Air Niugini�s Boeing 767 aircraft, in partnership with Cathay Pacific Airways under a code share arrangement.Flights to Hong Kong were resumed in October last year, operating once a week on Wednesdays, opening up new opportunities to bring freight and essential travellers to and from Port Moresby via Hong Kong, including the export of live crabs, lobsters and other products from Papua New Guinea to the Asian markets.

Air Niugini wishes to advise the travelling public not to buy airline tickets which are being resold including tickets purchased on our special offers. This follows continuous reports that some of these heavily discounted tickets are being resold to the public. Customers suspected of purchasing such tickets will have their bookings and tickets cancelled without notice and will be denied boarding. Therefore they �will lose the money they have paid to the person originally making the booking.�� They also risk legal action.

Air Niugini Flights To Hoskins Airport
Air Niugini will recommence flights to and from Hoskins airport, West New Britain from tomorrow until Monday 11th January. Flights between January 5th and 11th are for passengers already holding tickets. There are no restrictions on passengers travelling into Hoskins during this period. Per advice from the National Control Centre, passengers departing Hoskins will be required to undertake a rapid COVID test at the airport prior to the flight.� This takes 20-25 minutes for the result, so passengers are requested to arrive early.�
