Air Niugini is pleased to advise customers that effective from 1am Saturday 22nd January, fully vaccinated international passengers can fly into Queensland with no requirement for any quarantine on arrival. Passengers will be required to self-conduct a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) within 24 hours of arriving in Australia.

Air Niugini resumes services to Kieta, and lifting of Covid Testing Requirements for travel to Autonomous Region of Bougainville [AROB]
Air Niugini wishes to advise the travelling public that the airline will resume its Fokker 70 jet services to Kieta�s Aropa airport effective from 25th January 2022. Flights into Kieta had been suspended at the direction of the Regional Pandemic Controller for AROB since October 2021 due to increasing COVID case numbers, however this direction has now been revoked today, Thursday 13th January 2022.

International Travel: Vaccination Requirements – Flights Departing PNG
All passengers departing internationally from PNG are reminded that they must show evidence at check-in that they are fully vaccinated. For passengers who have been vaccinated in PNG, they must produce the yellow International Vaccination Certificate (which is issued by PNG National Department of Health).� The green domestic vaccination certificate is not sufficient. �For passengers who were vaccinated overseas this will be the vaccination certificate issued in the country they were vaccinated in. The only exceptions are where; the passenger can provide evidence of a medical exemption in a form acceptable to their destination �country,� and for any countries of transit. This will normally be signed by a medical practitioner; or children under the age of 18 (which is presently the minimum age for vaccinations in PNG) and the child is approved to travel to their destination (and for any countries of transit) unvaccinated .

From 1st November fully vaccinated passengers have been able to fly into Sydney and travel to NSW, Victoria and ACT but presently have to home quarantine for three days. You can transit domestically to your home location after landing in Sydney, by car or air,� before entering into the three days of home quarantine .� From 15th December, this will also apply for those travelling to Tasmania.�

Air Niugini Flights To Lae And Kavieng
Further to previous updates, the National Airports Corporation (NAC) has advised that the completion of runway works at Lae (Nadzab) and Kavieng airports have been delayed into 2022. Kavieng is now expected to return to Fokker jet operations around the third week of January (instead of this month), whilst jet services to Nadzab are expected to resume in April 2022 (instead of January).

AIir Niugini Resumes Fokker Jet Services To Madang
Following the resumption of jet services to Wewak last week, Air Niugini wishes to advise the travelling public that the airline has now also resumed its Fokker jet services to Madang effective tomorrow, Wednesday 17th November 2021.The resumption of Fokker flights follows the completion of runway maintenance works by the National Airports Corporation(NAC). Since the works on the airport runway commenced early this year, Link PNG has been operating to Madang airport using smaller Dash-8 aircraft, but with passenger numbers restricted to as few as 20 at times because of the shortened runway. For a period of time in July/August the runway was closed to even Dash-8 size aircraft.

Air Niugini operates additional flights to Sydney.
Air Niugini is pleased to advise customers that due to high demand for Sydney flights, the airline will be operating three special flights from Port Moresby to Sydney and back, using the Boeing 767 aircraft.The flights, PX 4001/4002 will operate every Sunday, commencing on 28th November, followed by 05th and 12th December. These flights depart Port Moresby at 07:00am and arrive in Sydney at 11:55am with the return services departing Sydney at 12:55pm and arriving back in POM at 3:55pm.

Link PNG Suspends Operations To Kavieng Airport
Link PNG Limited (a subsidiary airline of Air Niugini Limited) regrets to advise the travelling public that with immediate effect, it has suspended its operations into Kavieng airport due to safety concerns over loose gravel following recent runway upgrade work. The presence of loose gravel material poses safety hazard and risk to our aircraft and passengers therefore in the interest of safety, the airline has taken this step to suspend operations until the airport operator (National Airports Corporation) resolves the issue. �Link PNG looks forward to resuming services once there is assurance that the matter has been resolved and it can operate safely into Kavieng airport.

Due to the closure of Aropa airport by the AROB Government, Air Niugini flights to Kieta are suspended until further notice. Passengers holding tickets to or from Kieta may travel to or from Buka instead at no additional cost, or can rebook their travel to Kieta for future dates without penalties.

Air Niugini Services To Manila , Philippines
Air Niugini wishes to advise customers that the Philippines Government has now removed the restriction on carriage of passengers originating in PNG to the Philippines with immediate effect from today, Friday 01st October.PX010/PX011 flights between Port Moresby and Manila are now operating as per normal schedule. Air Niugini�s Boeing 737 flies to Manila twice weekly, on Fridays and Sundays.
