Requirements For Passengers Travelling From PNG To Solomon Islands To Provide Proof Of Measles Vaccination
In an update issued by Solomon Islands Ministry of Health on January 2, 2020 PNG was added as one of the Measles �affected� countries, along with New Zealand. The original list of affected countries comprised American Samoa, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Australia and the Philippines. The Ministry of Health advise that it is mandatory to fill in a Traveller Health Declaration Card before entering the Solomon Islands. Proof of Vaccination will be in the form of a vaccine Card, vaccination records for proof of immunization for children, and medical certificate from a recognised medical practitioner/hospital.

Air Niugini Rready To Uplift Our Firefighters To Help Australia Battle Bushfires
Air Niugini is on standby to uplift Papua New Guinea firefighters free of charge who may be asked to travel to Australia to assist with the current effort to stop the spread of wildfires. These devastating fires have so far burned over 17 million acres of land, killed at least 25 people, half a billion animals and destroyed millions of dollars� worth of properties. The airline�s response is in support of the PNG Government�s offer to provide firefighters and Defence Force soldiers to combat the spread of fires, and adds to relief efforts being currently coordinated by the Australian Defence Force.

Air Niugini Now Accepts Paypal And Poli Methods Of Payment
Air Niugini is now accepting PayPal and POLi payment methods for purchasing airline tickets online as a way to diversify payment options and part of the initiatives to enhance customer experience. Air Niugini General Manager, Commercial Services, Mr. Dominic Kaumu said introducing PayPal and POLi payment methods represents another important step in ensuring the valued customers are offered alternative payment options when purchasing tickets. He said, �For Air Niugini customers, this is an added convenience, especially for those existing PayPal and POLi customers who are used to their preferred payment method. These two alternative payment methods may also be welcomed by those who are still not comfortable about giving their credit card details away online.� The PayPal and POLi payments have been accepted since 8pm on Tuesday, 10th December.

Air Niugini Advises Public Traveling To Solomon Islands To Receive Measles Vaccination
Air Niugini wishes to advise the traveling public that passengers traveling to Solomon Islands are required to receive measles vaccination. This follows the current measles outbreak in several Pacific Island countries including Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, American Samoa, Australia and New Zealand and also the Philippines. The Solomon Islands Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) advise the following travel requirements and measures be implemented to ensure safety to citizens of Solomon Islands. All persons arriving in Solomon Islands will be required to complete a Traveler�s Public Health Declaration Card, which became effective from December 14, 2019.

Air Niugini wishes to advise the general public to be cautious about a false advertisement on social media for cabin crew recruitment training. The advertisement, which uses the Air Niugini Logo and a fake email account airniuginihumanresorce@gmail.com is false as the national airline is not aware of this. We appeal to the public to disregard this advertisement as it is not from Air Niugini and we strongly advise the public to be wary of such false information.�

Air Niugini Resumes Fokker Services To Mt Hagen For Peak Period Only
Air Niugini has resumed jet operations using its Fokker 70/100 aircrafts to Mt Hagen only for the peak period.This will cater for the high number of passengers traveling during this time. Air Niugini services to Mt Hagen were downgraded to Dash 8 aircraft in June 2019 to cater for maintenance work on the airport by the National Airports Corporation (NAC).

Air Niugini Extends Dangerous Goods Training In The Pacific
Air Niugini has extended its Dangerous Goods (DG) training to include other organisations within the Pacific region commencing with Pohnpei in Micronesia and recently, Port Vila, Vanuatu. Dangerous goods are articles or substances that pose hazard to health, safety, property and environment. Air Niugini Non-Technical Training Instructor, Martin Tugano who conducted the training said there was positive feedback with overwhelming interests from participants. A total 33 participants from the Vanuatu Terminal Services (VTS), Civil Aviation Authority Vanuatu (CAAV) and Aviation Vanuatu Ltd (AVL) Aviation Securities attended the training in Port Vila from November 27 to December 2, 2019.

Air Niugini Offers Dangerous Goods Training To External Customers
Air Niugini is the only organization in the country offering Dangerous Goods(DG) training to external clients under the airline�s Part 141 training organization and issues certificates and licenses under Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Civil Aviation Rule(CAR) part 92. A recent DG training conducted at the airline�s training centre at 7 mile in Port Moresby saw a total twenty (20) participants from eight organisations, among them nine personnel from the Papua New Guinea Defense Force Air Transport Wing. Also in attendance were staff from Ok Tedi Mining Limited, Hevi-Lift PNG Limited, Central Aviation, Heli Solutions, Nacap PNG, Keris Cargo and Air Niugini.

Air Niugini has recently appointed Ms Maree Keygan as the Australian Airports Regional manager based at Cairns International airport in Cairns, Australia. Air Niugini Awards Best Performing Ports
Air Niugini Madang was awarded for achieving the best � On Time Performance(OTP)� in the airline�s category A ports for the third quarter of 2019, maintaining the top spot since the beginning of this year. OTP is measured on the time taken for a scheduled flight to depart from a point of origin to the point of arrival. LinkPNG To Launch First Passenger Services To Komo, Hela
Link PNG, a subsidiary of Air Niugini will launch its first commercial passenger flights to Komo airport in Hela province effective, Tuesday 19th of November 2019. The schedule flights will initially operate twice a week, every Tuesdays and Thursdays, departing Port Moresby at 10: 15am and arriving in Komo at 11:45am. The return flight leaves Komo at 12:10pm, arriving back in Port Moresby by 1:40pm. All flights will be operated by Link PNG�s 50 seat Dash 8-315 aircraft.�

Air Niugini Receives IOSA Certificate
Air Niugini has successfully passed the International Air Transport Association�s (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) once again, which now gives the airline validation for the next two years. From July 8 to 12, Air Niugini was subject to an IOSA Renewal Audit, conducted by Aviation Compliance Solutions (ACS), an audit organisation, accredited by IATA. IOSA seeks to ensure that airlines are compliant with safety requirements and recommended practices determined by IATA. The IOSA Program is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.

Air Niugini Trains More Rural Sales Agents
Air Niugini has successfully completed training for eight staff from the four recently appointed Rural Sales Agents (RSAs) who will represent the airline by providing its services including making reservations and selling airline tickets to people in rural communities. RSAs are local business men and women in rural communities whom Air Niugini has identified, trained and equipped with tools to act on behalf of the airline. This is part of Air Niugini�s focus on bringing its services closer to the people by allowing small to medium sized enterprises (SME) to be part of Air Niugini�s growth as the airline belongs to the people.
