Air Niugini offers prepaid baggage for passengers expecting their checked baggage to exceed the standard allowance. Prepaid baggage can be purchased in blocks of five kilograms (5kg), with a minimum of five kilograms (5kg) and a maximum of forty-five kilograms (45kg) per passenger. This service is available across Air Niugini’s entire network and is subject to the following conditions:
Eligibility and Purchase Guidelines:
- Prepaid baggage is only available on Air Niugini-operated flights.
- It must be purchased at least three hours (3 hours) before departure through the nearest Air Niugini Travel Centre or the official website: www.airniugini.com.pg.
- Prepaid baggage cannot be purchased at check-in; only excess baggage fees will apply at that point.
Weight and Allowance Restrictions:
- No single checked baggage item should exceed 32kg due to safety regulations.
- Passengers must accurately estimate and pay for their total baggage weight, as no refunds will be issued once payment is made.
Refund and Transfer Policy:
- Prepaid baggage is non-refundable and will be considered used once the flight departs, and the corresponding flight coupon is closed or marked as flown.
- Prepaid baggage is non-transferable.
- Any unused prepaid baggage allowance will not be refunded.
Note: Passengers are responsible for correctly estimating their baggage weight. Overestimating or underutilizing prepaid baggage will not entitle them to a refund.
