Air Niugini participates in National Women’s Day celebrations
Air Niugini encourages gender equality and inclusivity and condones any discrimination in the workplace. And this is evident across the airline in various roles, especially in the current senior management and middle management positions. That’s from the airline’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gary Seddon who was part of a group of esteemed panellists at the National Women’s Day celebrations at APEC Haus on Monday, focused on this year’s theme: “Count Her In: Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.”

Rabaul Tokua Airport Runway Repairs Impacts Air Niugini Operations
Tokua Airport, a crucial desnaon on Air Niugini’s network, is undergoing significant runway repairs causing a substantial reduction in operating length of the runway. This will further limit aircraft operations for the next 4 to 5 months. The decision, while necessary for infrastructure improvements, will inevitably lead to major unavoidable disruptions in passenger and cargo services.

Air Niugini Takes Unusual Step to Secure Jet Fuel Supply Amid Ongoing Disruptions
[Port Moresby, 28/02/24] – In response to on going disruptions to jet fuel supply, Air Niugini Board and Management have taken the unprecedented step of purchasing bulk jet fuel stock to support the Air Niugini scheduled services in the short term. This decision comes as the supply of current jet fuel was running low, which has adversely affected the airline’s ability to operate some flights as scheduled.Air Niugini’s jet fuel has now been successfully delivered to Port Moresby storage facilities, ensuring the continuity of scheduled services from the capital city.

Air Niugini Resumes Flights to Cairns
Air Niugini wishes to advise our valued customers that the airline has resumed flights to Cairns airport, Australia since yesterday, Tuesday 19th December. Flight PX 98 departed Port Moresby for Cairns yesterday afternoon and returned last night with passengers disrupted from the previous flights. This is followed by normal scheduled operations today.

Air Niugini Restarts Fokker Jet Services to Mount Hagen
Air Niugini wishes to advise its valued customers that the airline has resumed Fokker jet services to Kagamuga airport, Mount Hagen today, Monday 27th November. Jet operations to Mount Hagen were suspended in late September to allow the National Airports Corporation (NAC) to carry out urgent maintenance works on the airport runway. During the period of the runway repairs, all Air Niugini flights to Hagen were downgraded to Dash 8 operations.

Airbus Beyond to provide Air Niugini with training services
Singapore, 14 November 2023 – Airbus, through its learning subsidiary, Airbus Beyond, has finalised a commitment to support the development of Air Niugini’s human capital. The agreement was co-signed by Airbus Beyond CEO Adam McGonigal and Acting CEO of Air Niugini Gary Seddon in Singapore.The move signifies a pivotal step towards advancing the airline’s workforce capabilities and aims to equip Air Niugini’s middle management with the expertise required for the next phase of its development. This comes following the recent order by the airline for a new A220 fleet.

Air Niugini Resumes Jet Operations to Madang
Air Niugini has resumed Fokker jet operations to Madang airport, effective this morning, Tuesday October 10 .The decision to resume jet services was made after the National Airports Corporation has repaired a small portion of the airport runway that was damaged by the earthquake on Saturday. Yesterday, Air Niugini downgraded its flights to Madang by using only Dash 8s before resuming jet operations today. Safety is always of paramount importance in Air Niugini’s operations.

Air Niugini Deploys Dash 8 Aircraft to Madang and Hagen
Air Niugini has temporarily downgraded its services to Madang to Dash 8 operations due to damage caused to part of the runway by the earthquake on Saturday October 7. Airport authority, National Airports Corporation(NAC) is currently working on a plan to fix damage caused to the runway. Similarly, all Fokker and Boeing 737 flights to Mount Hagen have been downgraded to Dash8 aircraft due to maintenance works on the runway at Kagamuga airport. The airport runway is shortened to allow NAC to carry out maintenance and repair works on the runway.

Air Niugini’s Boeing Fleet Returns to Full Capacity
